German Design Award 2026 for the RP1 PRO

The RP1 PRO has been named a Winner at the German Design Award 2026, in the category Medical, Rehabilitation and Health Care. In the competition's gallery it is listed as "Elektrorollstuhl RP1". The jury highlights its excellent manoeuvrability and its compact form.

Why design matters in an assistive device

In a power wheelchair, design is also function. Its dimensions decide whether it fits through the bathroom door and can turn next to the bed. The construction of the backrest determines how the body is guided when the seat is adjusted.

What makes the RP1 PRO special

• When it is adjusted, the back shell follows the movement of the body. This reduces shear forces, and the controls stay in their position relative to the body.
• With an overall width of 56 cm, an overall length of at least 75 cm and a turning radius of 55 cm, it is designed for tight indoor spaces.
• The stand-up aid supports users and carers during transfers.
• Full suspension and independent wheel suspension keep the ride stable and calm.
